Friends,

Kol haKfar, the downtown egal minyan, meets again this Friday night at 6pm in Williamsburg. To reward people for their journey to hipsterdom we'll be holding an extended kiddush -- it's a way to have a drink, eat a nosh and socialize with new and old friends. Much thanks to Anya and Adam for (yet again) opening their lovely loft for the minyan.

This week the parsha is Beshalach. Get ready for a lively discussion about complaining and eating (two favorite Jewish activities... to this very day), the dramatic rescue across the Red Sea and Joshua's first military adventure. Please read it before hand so we can have a good discussion of some of the main themes. Like, how to hunt for birds by kvetching, and other useful desert survival tricks.

For the kiddush, please bring a kosher or vegetarian nosh to share. Extra karmic points go to those bringing kosher wine. No birds please.

Take the L to Bedford and walk south on Bedford til you hit Broadway
Or:
Take the J/M/Z to Marcy Ave and walk west on Broadway

It's actually a nice walk over the Williamsburg bridge....

Thanks,
