Kol haKfar -- the Voice of the Village -- gathers this Friday, December 21st at 6pm to celebrate Shabbat. We'll have a light kiddush afterwards and a d'var Torah from the very last parsha of B'rashit: Vayechi. Get ready to bid Jacob farewell, then to Joseph. The age of the patriarchs ends with an ironic twist in Jacob's blessing Joseph's sons, a mixture of blessing and reproaches from Jacob to his many progeny, and a funeral fit for a king. And then comes 400 years of darkness.
