SAVE THE DATE
Jewish Community Day of Learning: Save Darfur, Sudan

Sunday, June 26

Please join the New York City Jewish community in an afternoon dedicated toraising funds for Emergency Relief in Darfur, discussing strategies foractivism, and reflecting on Jewish issues raised by the ongoing crisis. Allfunds raised will benefit the American Jewish World Service's Sudan Reliefand Advocacy Fund.

This event is co-sponsored by Amcha: Coaltion for JewishConcerns, theAmerican Jewish World Service, Congregation Ansche Chesed, CongregationB'nai Jeshurun, Central Synagogue, Yeshivat Chovevei Torah, Temple Gates ofPrayer, Congregation Habonim, Kol Zimrah, Congregation Magen David, Not NowNot Ever, the Park Slope Jewish Center, the Park Slope Minyan, the PelhamJewish Center, the Pardes Institute of JewishStudies, the Park Slope JewishCenter, Congregation Shaare Zedek, and the UJA Federation-NY.

The event will take place from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Skirball Center forAdult Jewish Learning at Temple Emanu-El: 10 East 66th St. (at FifthAvenue).

The schedule for the day is as follows:
1:00 Opening Plenary
The opening plenary will welcome everyone to the day of learning and feature speakers who represent the Jewish response to the current crisisin Darfur. Rabbi Danny Landes of the Pardes Insititute for Jewish studieswill be among the participants.
1:45 Learning Session 1
2:40 Learning Session 2
In each learning session, five to ten classes will, respectively, address Judaic perspectives on the issues raised by the events in Darfur. Confirmedspeakers include Rabbi Etan Mintz of the Hebrew Institute of Riverdale andRabbi Eliyahu Stern of Park East Synaogogue.
3:35 Closing Program

The day will conclude with an educator from the American Jewish WorldService offering suggestions for continued Sudan advocacy work andreflecting on the meaning of the day.A minimum donation of $20 will be requested at the event. Additionaldonations can be made at www.ajws.org/darfur.

Jerusalem Youth Week- Concert fundraiser WITH PEY DALED, NOACH SOLOMON, PIAMENTA BAND and Special Guests

This week is dedicated to Jerusalem's Youth! Bait Ham, an organization working with Youth at risk is in town informing the public about their important work with Youth at Risk in Jerusalem.
These kids do not know how they feel religiously or about most of life from one dayto the next. This includes the gamut: drugs, danger, poverty, war, terrorism and narco-terrorism.
Bait Ham works miracles of awareness through music and art programs which range from programs in converted bomb shelters in Jerusalem to teaching teams to work with these youth therapeutically.
THEY HELP PREPARE THEM FOR WHAT MATTERS TO THEM... Most go into the army. The program is awesome. PLEASE COME HELP US CELEBRATE THE CONTINUATION OF THEIR LIVES
