Many of you are wondering what to do about last-minute high holiday services downtown. Here are a few suggestions.

Daniel Neiden’s High Holy Day Services

Conservative/Egalitarian services will be conducted at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church
81 Christopher Street between 7th Avenue and Bleecker St.

Children are encouraged to attend, and child care is available. No Tickets - donations gratefully accepted.

Rosh Hashanah

Ohel Ayalah

Ohel Ayalah will hold free, walk-in High Holiday services – Two RH services and YK Kol Nidrei only. This year the first day of Rosh Hashanah is on Saturday, September 23. Yom Kippur begins on Sunday night, October 1.

If you are in your 20s or 30s and looking for a service that is traditional but also contemporary, musical, beautiful, and intelligent, consider joining us. Rosh Hashanah services begin at 9 a.m. and end at 12:15 p.m. They are followed by a light lunch, and also a lecture for those interested on The Roots of Islam. It will be delivered by Professor Alfred Ivry of NYU. (For Mid East news, check out http://www.nearista.com.)

On Kol Nidrei night (Yom Kippur) there will be two services, one at 6 p.m. and the other at 8 p.m. Each will last about two hours.

Brooklyn Jews

Seats currently remain available for the Brooklyn Jews High Holy Days Services being hosted at Congregation Beth Elohim's Social Hall.
